I’d like to tell you a little story about Will Zalatoris. For those that don’t know Will, he is one of the newest members of the PGA Tour. Extremely talented player, has the classic golf swing that is powerful and repeatable. Will growing up as a youngster, loved the game of golf. He’d go to the golf course by himself, he’d play a round of golf with three golf balls, one ball was his, the others belonged to Tiger Woods and Phil Michelson. This was his dream, to play golf with the greatest players of his generation. It was his dream to play the PGA Tour and he worked extremely hard and was focused to attaining his goal, of not just playing with Tiger and Phil, but beating them and finding himself someday in the Hall of Fame.
As with any story, I guess there are ups and downs in your life. The upside in Will’s life has been his ability to perform at a tour level. As any kid, Will dreamed of playing at Augustus National. Will dreamed of playing in the British Open. He attained both of these at a very young age.
As for the downside to his story, at the British Open last year, he was three shots out of the league. He had a good chance to win. In the third round his back gave out due to spasms. They spent hours trying to repair him so he could continue playing. The whole golf world watched him on the ground as they tried to repair what years of rotation had done to his body. They could not fix him. You can’t turn the clock back on everything he has done to his body in a matter of hours. So Will went home and did not accomplish his dream of winning the British Open.
Forwarding to the 2023 Augustus National, Will couldn’t even tee it up. He dropped out of contention before the tournament even began. Again, it was his back, from all of the years of rotation that has put him on the side line on another major. He is 26 years old. There are only so many majors that Will can play in and already he has missed two at such a young age.
So yes, Will attained his dream of becoming a tour player. The question is: Will his body hold up for the rest of his career? Such a talent to be sidelined, and a disservice to the golf world for not being able to enjoy his incredible abilities.
The Blue Whale Exercise Program will get you to the tour, have you hitting the ball with power and accuracy, and will prevent your golf career from being shortened due to injuries. The Blue Whale Exercise Program will keep your body healthy, and the more you perform the exercises, the stronger your body will become. In other words, you will improve at a fast rate, and your body will strengthen to protect yourself every time you swing a golf club. Will isn’t the only player missing golf time on the tour. Tiger Woods has missed two majors in the same timespan as Will.
