The Blue Whale Exercise Program uses HydroMetrics to develop all facets of the golf swing. The exercises are done in shoulder-deep water with various props and aids designed to develop deeper muscle memory. Winter Program Details
This program is to transition high school students to college golf. Not only will you receive the training needed to play at the collegiate level, but I was also a college golf coach for 10 years and I know exactly what the college is looking for. It will also help you with the mental side of collegiate golf. This program will also benefit any student looking to play professionally as an LPGA member and will prep you mentally and physically to reach your goals.
The Blue Whale Winter Program – $895
The winter program uses the same muscles as the summer program, only are done on land in my golf studio and are extremely preparatory to the summer program or working in a pool on your own. The program is 8 weeks with hour and a half sessions once a week.
In the first week you will be taught how to properly set up to a golf shot, proper grip and stance and getting your body ready to make a golf swing.
The second week will consist of exercises which are done in water, but can also be done on land. They involve the extensor muscle, which is the left arm on a right-handed player; and a deltoid muscle which is the right side on a right-handed player. The extensor muscle is responsible for direction and accuracy in the golf swing. The deltoid muscle is responsible for power. When you take these two muscles and enhance them and make them strong and long, they will supersede any of the muscles you have been using in the past.
There are only two muscles you need to exercise in my program. They are easily learned, and will form the foundation of a very powerful and repeatable golf swing. As you finish lesson two, you will be able to do these exercises on your own. You will be able to continue practicing at home, in your office, or just about anywhere, so as to keep up your game.
Lesson three will now take these educated muscles and begin to perform on land, the water exercises, which are the basis for the Blue Whale Exercise Program. In this lesson you will learn to rotate your lower body into a ‘sitz’ position, while your upper body continues the circle. This exercise was developed in water, but can easily be done on land, as well.
Lesson four will combine everything together: stance, grip, posture and the use of rotation with the upper and lower body with rhythm and speed.
Lessons 5-7 will be ball striking and allowing the trained muscles become the dominant ones used in your golf swing.
Lesson 8 will be conducted at the Saratoga YMCA pool (included in fee). This lesson will allow you to take your land exorcises and see how easily they fit into the HydroMetrics Exercise Program which you will then continue either on land or in water to continue to strengthen the golfing muscles used to produce cyntrifical force.
Summer Program Details
The Blue Whale Summer Program – $4000.
An 8-week program designed for LPGA members who aspire to attain college scholarships or play professionally. Lessons occur twice a week and consist of 2 hours in the morning at the pool followed by lessons at the golf range and golf course. The program is taught May through October. The property includes a 8 x 12 ft. pool and a large indoor golf studio. Across the street is a championship golf course with grass practice facilities. As Saratoga is the summer place to be, lodging can be expensive and hard to find.
Saratoga is a very busy place during the summer, and it can be difficult to find lodging at a reasonable price. Therefore if any student would like to be accompanied by family or friends, I do offer lodging — see Accommodations page for more information.
There are two types of lodging I offer.
- A small log cabin in the back woods with access to the kitchen and bathroom facilities in the main home.
- A basement apartment with it’s own kitchen and bathroom facilities, in my main home.
- Two upstairs bedroom in the main home with bathroom facilities and kitchen in the shared main home.
